City Government doesn’t solve issues—people do. My deep love for American Fork drives my commitment to preserving its unique character while planning for the future. This requires us to work together, shaping a collective vision.
Uniting our efforts benefits both residents and local businesses. Our city's issues are complex, requiring diverse and creative approaches. As a council member, I've worked hard and take pride in our achievements, but there's more to be done.
We must continue to address the challenges of growth and inflation proactively. It isn’t a quick cut and dried solution. Property owner’s rights are critical and state mandates on affordable housing are real. A council member must know those things and work to find effective solutions.
Ensuring our public safety personnel are properly equipped, qualified and compensated has to be our priority as well so that our kids remain safe and we have the best emergency help we need, when we need it.
I know what it takes, and I am willing to work as part of a great team. Working together is the only way this can happen. I would sincerely appreciate your support!

I’m a small business owner that understands all the challenges that come with entrepreneurship. I’m a Marine who has served around the world including in Afghanistan. I’m the husband of an immigrant who cherishes the opportunity this country provides. I’m optimistic in that we as a community can overcome the toughest trials. I’m able to adapt and overcome no matter the circumstances. I relish adversity and the growth that comes from it. I can do hard things and know that each one of us can as well. I’m a believer in Christ and His mercy that provides the path to change for all of us. I love liberty more than my life.
I understand the challenges we face in American Fork especially as we go through this incredible period of growth: maintaining a sense of community, managing increasing traffic and providing sufficient services from emergency personnel to green space, ensuring decent internet accessibility for everyone, improving the roads and sidewalks, revitalizing the downtown area. I also understand the many opportunities this amazing city has and why we have all chosen to live here: the safety and jobs and neighbors and service and events and people that make this our home.

I am a proud resident of American Fork City where I raised my 6 children who attended high school here and had many opportunities while growing up in this community. I served our community as a State Representative because I believe everyone should take an opportunity to serve.
I am running for office because I believe we have a spending problem in our city. Our city is flush with cash and reserves are full yet we had an extra $9M to front the $40M fiber project while adding a $30M RDA bond to our debt. With the advent of a 37.8% tax increase and 8% inflation on family budgets, it is time to get involved.
The Salt Lake Tribune ranked me the #1 Conservative State Legislator in 2012 because I have a conservative voting record that reflects our Founding Fathers’ belief that limited government is best.
I will work to undo this tax increase and manage American Fork’s finances like a family’s budget.
I have the experience. I started with Arthur Andersen as an Auditor and Systems Consultant; then as an Internal Auditor, Fiscal Analyst and Division Controller.
Get to know me better by researching my conservative voting record.

The recent property tax increase needs to be reversed. During difficult economic times government needs to reduce spending not increase taxes. The City government is supposed to work for us not the other way around. The City needs to stop putting money into another Internet project that will cost far more than it will ever produce and be a tax burden on the citizens of this great city for years to come. There are already many private companies that provide Internet services to this city and are not supported by taxes on our residents.
I currently run a small business and understand the challenges small businesses face. I will do all that I can to encourage business growth in our City. I will do all I can to keep American Fork City moving forward in a positive direction by using your money wisely.
I have lived in American Fork for the past twenty nine (29) years with my family. My wife Jo Ellen and I are the proud parents of four (4) children who all graduated from American Fork High School. We are also the proud grandparents of (17) grandchildren. I thank you advance for your support.

As a longtime resident of American Fork, I’ve seen changes that come as a result of inevitable growth in our community. Much of that change has been handled well by our city leaders. However, as we continue to grow as a city, we must do a better job of balancing property rights, water conservation, infrastructure improvement, and development while practicing fiscal responsibility. I know that my expertise and experience gained over a lifetime of learning, working and living in diverse environments from coast to coast, including production management, purchasing, quality control and special projects for Fortune 100 companies will help me as a City Council member. I believe my expertise will help to successfully navigate the changes American Fork City faces while staying close to the community feeling and values my family, past and present, have enjoyed.
