Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity that is open to all of us. There are a variety of opportunities throughout American Fork City, from serving on a Board or Commission to participating as a volunteer in the community.

General Service

JustServe.org is a website where the volunteer needs of organizations are posted, and volunteers search for opportunities to enhance the quality of life in the community. JustServe is a free service that links community volunteer needs with volunteers. At JustServe, the focus is on the power of community service and volunteering to build unity in the community. On the site you can search to find local volunteering organizations in American Fork City.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels needs volunteer drivers 1 day a week, for 1 hour, in a limited delivery radius from American Fork Senior Center. Volunteers use their own vehicle to pick up the food at the Senior Center and deliver meals to the elderly, ill, frail, or disabled seniors in their homes. Visit here to learn more on how to volunteer.

Outdoor Parks Maintenance

The Parks and Recreation Committee has identified a number of service opportunities to help keep our cities parks and outdoor areas looking nice through digging rings around the trees, placing mulch to keep the weeds and grass down, and picking up trash in public areas. To learn more about these opportunities, contact Jason Thomson, Parks Superintendent, at 801-763-3060.

Senior Companion Program

Utah County Senior Services is looking for seniors (55+) who would like to serve other seniors in their community. Volunteers will receive a small stipend, reimbursement for mileage, and paid training once a month. Volunteers must be income eligible, be willing to serve 15+ hours per week and have the desire to help others. If you have questions or would like us to mail you an application, call Senior Services at 801-851-7767. You can find the Senior Companion Program online here or the Foster Grandparent Program here. Seniors who may need help and would like to take advantage of this program can also call Senior Services at 801-851-7767.
