- There are numerous projects both large and small that can be done at the Art Dye Park and Sports Complex. Projects may be centered in pruning, debris removal, bench construction and/or installation, animal habitat preservation, signage construction and/or installation, trail construction and/or conservation.
- It has always been the desire of this committee (as well as the desire of the Parks Department) to start a program or project to help preserve the hundreds of trees that have been planted in our city parks and on city properties. This project, however large or small you make it, would consist of spraying the area within a 6-foot diameter of the trunk of each tree and then after the grass / weeds are dead or dying placing mulch / bark around the tree’s base. This will save time in mowing, weed trimming and will feed the trees for years to come.
- It has also been a desire of this committee’s members to have signage made for each of the city parks. Few parks are identifiable by name when visited so attractive and sturdy signs would be a welcomed addition to each park.
- Litter pick-up is always an ongoing and welcomed service project. No approval needed for this project.
- The Boat Harbor area is always in need of volunteers. Contact the city offices at 801-763-3000 for the name and number of the Harbor Master.
- Projects are also needed at the Quail Cove Park (the old Developmental Center). Contact Craig Shipley at 801-735-6519
